NEW DOMINO’S iPAD APP MAKES MOBILE PIZZA ORDERS EVEN EASIER

August 30th, 2011 by DominosLincoln No comments »

Domino’s Pizza, the pizza delivery expert, has launched a new free iPad app to enable pizza lovers to order in a matter of swipes. Developed by Somo, the iPad app is the latest mobile addition to Domino’s ordering methods and sits alongside its existing iPhone and Android apps.

iPad users simply need to enter their postcode and the new app will automatically locate the nearest Domino’s store. Users can then scroll through a carousel style menu to select their favourite pizzas, sides, desserts and drinks. Pizzas can be customised by choosing the base and pizza size, selecting the pizza sauce and then scattering on a range of tasty toppings just by tapping the screen.

Having selected their pizza, iPad users can also choose from a range of sides, desserts and drinks and view the store’s latest meal deals. With PayPal available as one of the payment options, pizza lovers can place their order and pay via the app in just a few clicks.

Simon Wallis, sales and marketing director for Domino’s Pizza, said: “We are delighted to launch our new iPad app, following the great success of our iPhone and Android apps. Sales of iPads are currently growing faster than iPhone* and with the introduction of our new ordering app, we are keen to capitalise on this opportunity. We have achieved fantastic sales to date through mobile channels – our iPhone app generated £10million in pizza sales in just eight months – and we expect this trend to continue with our new iPad app and further take-up of our existing apps for iPhone and Android.

“We want to make sure that ordering a pizza is quick and easy for our customers however they do it and wherever they are – whether it’s sitting on the sofa or commuting home on the train. We have worked very closely with Somo to build an app in true Domino’s style, which is not only user-friendly but fun too.”

Domino’s new iPad app is now available to download free from the App Store.

DOES ROXY FROM DOMINO’S HAVE THE X FACTOR?

August 24th, 2011 by DominosLincoln No comments »

- Pizza maker from Brentwood makes it through to Boot Camp -

Roxy Yarnold, a 19 year old pizza maker from Domino’s in Brentwood, wowed the X Factor judges over the weekend with her rendition of Georgia on My Mind. Receiving four yeses from the panel, Roxy is now through to Boot Camp, the next stage of the top ITV1 singing competition.

Roxy has worked at the Domino’s store on Brentwood High Street for the past three years but dreams of taking the charts by storm as the next female singing sensation. Roxy’s influences include Joss Stone, Jessie J, Ella Fitzgerald and Nina Simone. Music has always been in her blood – Roxy started singing at the age of five and was encouraged to apply for this year’s show by her colleagues at Domino’s.

Roxy Yarnold said: “I’m always singing at work – sometimes I don’t even realise I’m doing it! – and my co-workers kept saying I should apply so this year, I thought I’d go for it. I was over the moon to get a ‘yes’ from each of the judges.”

Saif Alani, franchisee of Domino’s in Brentwood, said: “Not only is she a great pizza maker but Roxy is a very talented singer too. Everyone in the store is behind her and we really hope she does well at boot camp. We will be gutted if Roxy has to leave pizza making to pursue her music career but we hope she’ll still order plenty of Domino’s pizzas on her rider!”
