Domino’s Pizza, the pizza delivery expert, has today been announced as the fully integrated  sponsor of brand new ITV Studios and Syco show – Red or Black?, due to air on ITV1 this autumn.

Hosted by Ant and Dec, the show will be stripped across the prime time schedule, and gives ordinary people across the UK the chance to become millionaires. Each night, over the course of a week, eight people will face a life-defining moment as they are offered the chance to walk away with £1 million, or nothing at all.  Each night will show how the final eight started off as just faces in a crowd of thousands at the Red or Black? Arena. Viewers will then see them play colourful outdoor challenges in their local areas before reaching the live studio to battle it out.  Over one hundred thousand people applied to take part in the show and the first exciting stage has already been filmed at Wembley Arena.

The fully integrated sponsorship package, negotiated by ITV Commercial and Arena Media, on behalf of Domino’s Pizza, includes broadcast, online, interactive, mobile and off-air activation.

Simon Wallis, Sales and Marketing Director at Domino’s, said: “After our fantastic success with landmark shows such as The Simpson’s and Britain’s Got Talent, we are delighted to be sponsoring Red or Black – the most eagerly anticipated TV event of the year. With its fast-paced, edge of your seat format, we know that viewers are going to be glued to their screens and while they’re deciding Red or Black at home, we want them to be tucking in to a Domino’s Pizza. The home is our point of sale so unmissable TV events such as Red or Black create an ideal time for a product, such as pizza, that’s made for sharing – and because we deliver, there’s no need to miss a minute of the action.”

Simon Daglish, Director of Multi-Platforms & Partnerships, ITV added: “‘Red or Black is a hotly anticipated show for ITV and we are delighted to be working with a key partner in Domino’s. - Fresh, hot Domino’s pizza is now available at the motorway services at Leigh Delamere -

Domino’s Pizza opened its first motorway store on Monday, June 20 at the services at Leigh Delamere East, located on the M4 in Wiltshire.  This new venture is in conjunction with Moto Hospitality Limited.

Hundreds of passing motorists stopped by the services on Monday and were pleased to learn they could now purchase a fresh, hot Domino’s Pizza from the service station.  The store is operated in the same way as a traditional Domino’s store with pizzas being made from scratch with fresh dough and top quality ingredients.  The cooking time of a pizza is eight minutes, so by the time someone has picked up a newspaper and a coffee their fresh, hot pizza is ready to take away.

The Domino’s store team were excited to open the shutters for the first time on Monday and welcome in all their new customers.  A wide variety of people stepped up to inspect the new front counter and order a Domino’s Pizza, including festival goers, Amy Bull and George Young, who were on their way home from the Beach Break Live Festival, that took place at Pembrey Country Park in South Wales over the weekend.  Amy and George were pleased to see the Domino’s sign and headed straight for it.  George Young said: “We ordered a large Pepperoni Passion – it was delicious and just what we needed after a weekend of partying.”

Domino’s also came to the aid of AA man, Andy Woodward, who stopped at the services to assist a gentleman who had broken down.  His customer’s car was completely out of action so Andy was pleased to pick up a pizza before he towed the gentleman over 100 miles back to his home town of Cardigan in Wales.  Andy Woodward, Technical Specialist Patrol for the AA, said: “You could say Domino’s came to my rescue – the pizza was really hot and tasty.  I look forward to more Domino’s stores coming to service stations, as I am a frequent visitor to these places, so I will enjoy collecting a pizza on my way through.”

Chris Moore, chief executive officer for Domino’s Pizza said: “Opening our first store on the motorway was a landmark day for us.  We are excited to be able to reach out to a new stream of customers and are looking forward to continuing to do this as we intend to open up to 43 stores with Moto.  The opening day was a great success and our fresh, hot pizza was well received by lots of hungry motorists.”

Tim Moss, chief executive officer for Moto Hospitality Limited, said: “We really enjoyed opening the Domino’s Pizza store at our services on Monday.  Our customers welcomed hot pizza as another food choice, from the several already available.  Domino’s is a very successful, well known brand, that fits nicely with the other brands already located at Leigh Delamere.  We look forward to working with Domino’s and seeing this joint venture flourish.”

The store is open from 11am to 11pm every day and customers are able to order ahead by calling the store on 01666 838880.  Customers can also order online at or via the iPhone or Android app.

Jenny Price beats 1,500 managers from across the globe to scoop top pizza delivery title

Domino’s Pizza store manager, 27 year old Jenny Price from Portsmouth, has scooped the prestigious title of International Rookie Manager of the Year 2011. Beating off stiff competition from 1,500 rookie managers from Domino’s stores across the world, Jenny was awarded the title at the pizza delivery company’s recent annual awards ceremony.

The celebrated title of Domino’s International Rookie Manager of the Year is awarded to a store manager who has been in charge for less than 18 months. Strict targets for sales and store standards must be achieved in order to qualify. Jenny has helped the Portsmouth South store in Fratton exceed these goals and her passion for pizza is so evident, she makes an ideal recipient for the award.

Having joined Domino’s in 2009, Jenny originally planned for the job to be a stop-gap but within a week, she knew she wanted to stay and pursue it as a fulltime career. Her great work ethic and hands-on approach saw her become store manager after just nine months. Jenny’s people management skills have seen her create a 60 strong team at the Fratton store and achieve exceptional staff retention rates, while delivering outstanding customer service to pizza lovers in the area. She has also been getting stuck into community activities to raise funds for local causes, not to mention delivering to Portsmouth Fire Brigade to keep them going on their busiest day of the year – Bonfire Night.

Jenny was initially called to the stage at Domino’s annual awards on Monday May 23, 2011 to be given the title for Rookie Manager of the Year UK and the Republic of Ireland, but was immediately summoned back to receive the award for the Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) region. The double win was then topped off with her being presented the coveted International Rookie Manager of the Year award.

Jenny said: “I knew I had been nominated for the UK and Republic of Ireland rookie manager award and was staggered to win that, let alone be called back to the stage to also take the award for EMEA and then the ultimate prize – international! It was a very emotional moment and one that really made all the hard work worthwhile. I called my parents straight away afterwards to share the great news and I’ve already hung up my plaque with pride in the store. I love my job and I am determined to carry on developing the business and delivering more to customers in Fratton.”

Kory Spiroff, Vice-President – Domino’s Pizza EMEA, said: “Jenny is a fantastic ambassador for Domino’s Pizza. Her unwavering commitment to the brand, unending passion for her job and her genuinely contagious enthusiasm make Jenny a truly inspirational winner. We are delighted to present her with this award, recognising the crème de la crème of Domino’s Pizza rookie managers worldwide.”

Domino’s Pizza’s international awards recognise the talents and hard work of the franchisees and in-store teams from the company’s 9,350 stores in over 65 countries.

Domino’s Pizza franchisees Arshad and Muj Yasin have been presented with an award for their support and contribution towards Domino’s Pizza’s national charity, Special Olympics Great Britain.  Domino’s awards ceremony took place on Monday, May 23, at the ACC (Arena and Convention Centre) in Liverpool.

Arshad and Muj Yasin involved their teams in a fundraiser last summer in aid of the charity.  The fundraiser offered customers the chance to buy raffle tickets in order to win pizza for a year.  All the money raised went to Special Olympics Great Britain.  The raffle was extremely well received by their customers and between all the teams they raised a fantastic £5,000 for the charity.

Chief Executive for Special Olympics Great Britain, Karen Wallin, came to their store in Luton to collect the cheque and she was also in attendance at the awards ceremony to present them with their award.  Karen Wallin said: “Arshad and Muj’s support for Special Olympics Great Britain has been invaluable to us as the money they raised went to their local club near Luton.  We are grateful when any Domino’s Pizza franchisee supports our charity.  I hope to work with Arshad and Muj again in the near future.”

Arshad Yasin, Domino’s Pizza franchisee, said: “We were really delighted to receive this award.  We are passionate about supporting Special Olympics Great Britain and were so pleased that our fundraiser last year proved so popular.  Knowing that the money we raised went to offer much needed help to our local Special Olympics club is an award all in itself.”

Arshad and Muj Yasin joined Domino’s in 1988 and 1990 respectively, as in-store team members.  They loved and believed in the brand so much that they invested in it as franchisees and purchased their first store in Harlow.  They went onto purchase a further 10 stores located in Dunstable, Hemel Hempstead, Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield, a second store in Luton and five stores in Birmingham.

Domino’s Pizza’s annual awards recognise the talents and hard work of the franchisees and in-store team members from the company’s 672 stores in the UK and Ireland.
