Domino’s Delivers NEW JOBS to LINCOLN

November 26th, 2009

Domino’s, the local pizza delivery expert, is set to create around 25-30 full and part-time jobs when its new Lincoln store opens in December.

The store, located on High Street will be recruiting within the community for trainee managers, trainee pizza makers, customer service representatives and delivery experts.

We are looking to employ people who live in the community that we’ll be serving. First and foremost, we’re  looking for people who can deliver great customer service and demonstrate strong teamwork skills, as well as boundless enthusiasm. It’s also vital to be able to maintain a sense of fun while working under pressure.

Domino’s Pizza believes in opportunities for all. The company is an Age Positive Employer Champion, which means that it has been recognised for its commitment to welcoming applicants of all ages. Domino’s will be recruiting on the basis of ability and, as many team members go on to management positions in under two years, this recruitment drive is a fantastic opportunity for jobseekers in Lincoln.

At induction, as well as throughout their career, Domino’s offers its employees full training, ranging from dough management and food hygiene for pizza makers through to road safety for pizza delivery experts. Domino’s always recruits from the surrounding area and, with an additional focus on developing strong community links, aims to deliver more than just great tasting pizza. In particular, Domino’s supports Special Olympics Great Britain (SOGB) on both a national and local level.  SOGB provides people with learning disabilities opportunities to take part in year-round sports training and competition.

The store is Domino’s third in the city, meaning that pizza lovers across Lincoln will be able to enjoy a piping hot, freshly made pizza delivered to their door. The others are located on Tritton Road and Outer Circle Road.

The new store is set to open in the last week of December and is located at 409 – 410 High Street, Lincoln (Gowts Bridge)

If you are interested in a position at the new store, please apply online at or pop into one of our other stores for a application form57005-Lincoln-A0 Recruitment Poster_LR

High Street (Gowts Bridge)

November 26th, 2009

Only a brief update today… Lots going on on-site!

It looks like chaos, but I’ve seen it all before and trust me it is organised chaos!

Shopfront on order and once that goes in it’ll definitely start looking like a Domino’s Pizza store… Unless we have any hiccups with equipment and utilities then we should be open just before Christmas.

I did persuade Lisa to put on her latest outfit for a Picture Opportunity… What do you think? Let us know via Twitter @DominosLincoln or on facebook at

Online Pizza Tracker

November 25th, 2009

A few months back Domino’s Pizza, the UK and Ireland’s fastest growing pizza delivery company, launched an innovative new ‘Real Time’ monitoring system, to measure service performance in order to get pizza ‘out-the-door’ in the minimum amount of time. This industry leading initiative is helping boost customer service levels at Domino’s nationwide.

The unique ‘Real Time’ system measures and drives store performance by monitoring the time it takes from when an order is placed by the customer until the time the pizza leaves the store. The groundbreaking data incorporates national average ‘out-the-door’ times for the whole of Domino’s UK and Ireland business, as well as for individual stores and is updated every 20 seconds.

A few weeks ago we also added a Online Pizza Tracker... This extends the ‘information’ available and allows our customers to better track where their order is and gives updated information.

Using the tracker you can see a changing display that shows when the order has arrived at the store, when it is in the oven, when it is ready for collection or on the road, it also tells you when our delivery driver is safely back at the store.

Domino’s has been at the forefront of home-delivered pizza innovation since it arrived in the UK 25 years ago and was first to introduce a wealth of inventions from HeatWaveTM technology which minimises heat loss during delivery to e-commerce. This latest technological innovation, ‘Real Time’, continues this market-leading tradition.

Note: It was by using tit_portal_pic_125680his information from the “Real Time’ system that we recognised that we need a third store in Lincoln. We aim to get your hot, fresh tasty pizza to your door in 30 minutes or less and by us monitoring ‘drive times’ the length of time our delivery drivers are on the road, we indentified that increasing traffic and ongoing road issues in Lincoln meant that to improve our service to our customers we needed to reduce ‘drive times’. By adding our third store on the High Street we take an important step towards achieving our ongoing goal of a ON-TIME delivery every time. For more details on the new store you can read our previous blog We’re moo-ving in soon!

Domino's Cup receives Football League award nomination

November 23rd, 2009

Lincoln City’s Football In The Community Half-Time Tournament, sponsored by Domino’s Pizza, has been nominated in the national Football League Community Awards for ‘Best League Two Community Matchday Initiative’.

The tournament provides aspiring youngsters with the chance to play in front of thousands of fans at half-time during an Imps League Two fixture, and is proving a massive success among local primary schools. Every player receives a voucher from Domino’s Pizza and a certificate from Lincoln City, and the winning school receives a trophy which they can keep as a proud momento.

“We work in many of the schools who take part and its a great opportunity for the youngsters to represent their school in front of thousands of fans at Sincil Bank. The fans really enjoy the half-time entertainment too,” says Community Imps Matchday Coordinator, Damian Froggatt. “The competition is open to every primary school in the county, boys and girls, and is growing from strength to strength. And we’re always looking to invite new schools to take part and experience the excitement of a match day at Lincoln City.”

Keep up with the latest news from Lincoln City FC and their community activities, along with match reports on the Domino’s Cup at
